Eric was a friend of my brother’s, so we first saw each other at high school functions. In the summer of 1992 he went to Mazatlán, Mexico for his senior class trip—and somehow, I ended up there as the chaperone. It was a memorable start that gave us a story to laugh about for years. Eric's version of is a lot more dramatic than mine, you'll have to ask him about it sometime. We kept in touch casually over time, running into each other now and then, catching up at kids sporting events and family gatherings. Life moved us in different directions, but a friend eventually reconnected us, and this time the spark stayed. From long conversations to small adventures, we learned how well we fit together—shared humor, quiet support, and a love for exploring new places. Now we’re looking forward to celebrating with the people who watched our story begin and helped bring us here.
